How much does counseling cost?

My current rates for a standard 50-minute counseling session are $110. I am more than willing to offer a 20-minute free consultation for us to determine if moving forward with therapy is a good fit. If for any reason my rates are not affordable to you at this stage, I would be happy to talk about my sliding scale rates.

do you take insurance?

At this time, I do not accept insurance, and I am not listed on any insurance panels. You may contact your insurance company directly to ask what (if any) out-of-network mental health coverage you have. I can provide a coded invoice for reimbursement for of out-of-pocket payments they cover.

When are you available?

I am most available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays between the hours of 9am - 6pm.

where are you located?

I am currently only providing online sessions due to the COVID-19 pandemic over a HIPAA compliant video platform.

Once I return to in-office sessions my primary office is located in Littleton at the Shama Collective shared space:

8321 Sangre De Cristo Road Suite # 200, Littleton, CO 80127

how many sessions are necessary/how long will this take?

Number of sessions needed will vary depending on the presenting issues and a person’s desire. I generally prefer to have a longer term relationship with my clients because I believe we can accomplish more, the longer we journey together. Standard minimum number of sessions is 8-12. This can be done at your own pace.

can you ‘fix’ my problems?

Counseling is a two way street - although it is also a professional relationship. I will not give you direct answers or tell you what decisions you should make. My role is to help you discover your own heart and desires, drawing you out through good questions, observing and noticing patterns in your story, and giving psychological insights for deeper self-awareness, interpersonal development, and other tools to help guide along the way. So much of the ‘work’ of counseling is about the outside efforts and changes you put into practice in-between sessions.

are you a Christian therapist?

I consider spirituality to be an important aspect of counseling. The term Christian can hold many different meanings or connotations depending on your history and experience. I consider myself to be a follower of Jesus, and I desire to live a life of loving God and loving my neighbor. This will inform our counseling relationship and the way that I practice, but not in the ways you might expect; if you have specific questions you are always welcome to ask! Nonetheless, I also have a deep respect and curiosity for people of all faiths and spiritual backgrounds (or even those who do not consider themselves spiritual) and will gladly welcome you regardless of what you believe. How much spirituality and faith I bring into the counseling room will depend on what you desire and express interest in including into our process together.
